Minimalist, calm, and genuinely good coffee. Try the military latte. Open weekdays only, so plan around that. This is where I take a serious meeting.

2. Space Coffee

5463 Yonge Street, second floor at Yonge and Finch.

Bright, quiet and spacious. This is the one for laptop work. People sit for hours and nobody rushes you. Weekdays only.

3. Another Land Coffee

4708 Yonge Street.

Small, warm and community run. They carry specialty beans on the shelf and the owner often serves you herself. Open seven days, which makes it the reliable weekend pick.

4. Slow Bite

45 Sheppard Avenue East.

Half bakery, half cafe. They bake in house and pull De Mello beans. The jalapeno sourdough and almond croissant are the reasons to go. Best pastry in the area right now.

5. The Peachy

5650 Yonge Street, near Finch station.

Open late, until 9:30pm most nights. Korean style cakes and bingsu in summer. This is the evening option when everywhere else has closed.
